Today we have a lot of foreigners come to and live in our city for business. But many of them barely speak Chinese. Last Sunday I was supposed to meet a friend at a subway station. I got there early and I was just waiting for him. A foreigner got off a taxicab and walked to me with a piece of paper in hand. One glance at his notes, I got it right away that he was asking for directions. It was two blocks away from the station so I suggested him to get back in the cab. I spoke to the driver in person until he knew exactly where the foreigner wanted to go. The foreigner thanked me for being a good help but I think they should learn Chinese if they want to do business in China.
