1.本票的概念
《英国票据法》关于本票的定义是：本票是一人向另一人签发的,保证即期或定期或在可以确定的将来的时间,对某人或其指定人或执票来人支付一定金额的无条件书面承诺.

2．本票的必要项目
（1）写明其为“本票”字样；
（2）无条件支付承诺；
（3）收款人或其指定人（未写明者,视同来人本票）
（4）出票人签字；
（5）出票日期或地点（未载明出票地点者,出票人名字旁的地点视为出票地）；
（6）付款期限（未载明付款期限者,视为见票即付）
（7）一定金额；
（8）付款地点（未载明付款地点者,出票地视为付款地）
3．本票的种类
（1）银行本票 是由银行签发的本票,不记名,其流动性与现钞无异,见票即付.
（2）商业本票 是由工商企业或个人签发的一般本票,有即期和远期之分.
